Another image from the Starship Cobra concert in Houston, Texas.  What you’re seeing is the out-of-focus light show in the background and the screen of a concert goer’s camera in the foreground.

Special thanks to Cobra Starship’s bass player, Alex Suarez, for hooking up this Alex Suarez with a photo pass to shoot the concert.

Victoria Asher of Cobra Starship playing the keytar.  I was fortunate enough to have a photo pass to photograph this concert.  This meant that I could shoot from the foot of the stage for the first three songs.  Man does time fly when you're doing that.  It seems you're just getting started when security taps you on the shoulder and tells you to leave.
Anyway, I like that there is motion blur over most of this image.  The drift of her skirt, the swing of the keytar, the mic stand as I panned following her movement.  Glad she made eye contact with the camera at that moment.  There is a lack of sharpness on her face, but I think the energy of the shot makes up for it and carries the image.  What are your thoughts?

Alex Suarez, bass player for Cobra Starship at a concert in Houston, Texas. Since we share the same name and I often get correspondence intended for him, we’ve gotten to know each other online over the past few years. Since they were touring through Texas I made it a point to go and finally meet Alex face to face. Over the years, Alex has been gracious and humble--a real class act. For this concert, Alex set me up with VIP passes and a photo pass to shoot from the foot of the stage. I’ll post more pictures from the concert over the coming days.
Here we are meeting backstage before the concert that night:
