County Road 600 (color)

At the risk of going back to the well too many often, here is a horizontally shot color image of the tree I posted about two weeks ago. The prior vertical image emphasized the sky even more and this horizontal emphasizes the leading lines of the fence as well as the mountains in the background. What are your thoughts? Which do you like beter?

NOTE: For those of you in the Austin area, Pete Holland will be speaking at the CapMac Advanced Photography SIG this Thursday. Pete will be speaking on Infrared and HDR Landscape Photography.

I like them both for different reasons. In the black and white version, the sky grabs my eye. It seems menacing, as it is part of the storm that just passed. The color version is welcoming, with wide open spaces and beautiful mountains off in the distance drawing you in.

I prefer the color. The blue of the sky and the mountains in the distance compliment the white of the snow. I saw on Flikr a suggestion to crop out the branches on the right. I think that may leave too little space to the right of the tree, maybe clone if anything, or leave it as is, it's a nice shot! Just found your site through a post you made at DPS, glad I stopped by!
